Bikaner has a rich history impregnate with countless tales of valor, passion and tender love and was established by Rao Bika.
Spite of being located in a barren land, the city flourished as an important Rajasthan commercial center as it lay on a busy camel caravan trade route that connected China and Central Asia to India.
When Mughal influence increased the Maharaja of Bikaner entered into a political alliance with the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This was a turning point in the history as the city received the protection of the Mughal army and the Mughals acquired some of the bravest warriors born on Indian soil. The city became a part of the Indian Union in the post independence period.
PRIME SITES - JUNAGARH FORT

Junagarh Fort was built in the16 the century and has never been conquered.
Successive rulers later added thirty-seven palaces, pavilions and temples to the main fort which have been skillfully built to connect with the previous buildings. The museum in the fort houses valuable collection of miniature paintings dating back to several centuries.

Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum houses brilliant specimens of Harappan civilization, the Gupta and Kushan era. Initially the museum was established in a red sandstone building near the Lalgarh Palace by Maharaja Ganga Singhji to celebrate his golden jubilee reign in Bikaner. Later Maharaja Karni Singhji constructed a larger building and the Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum was shifted to it in the year 1954.
PRIME SITES - SHIV BARI TEMPLE

Shiv Bari Temple is located at a distance of 6 kilometers from the main Bikaner city.
The temple was constructed by Maharaja Doongar Singhji. The temple has splendid domes, sculpted columns and the stunning pavilions. It is also referred to as the Laleshwar Mahadeo Temple by the locals and is famous for its massive statue of Lord Shiva in black marble.
